::ahem:: I mean, “Hi!”
I’m SUPER excited to help introduce the latest Riley Blake collection by Deena Rutter: Fossil Rim! It’s such a fun, whimsical line, I just had to make some matching ‘Mommy and Me’ matching outfits for my girls. With these last few weeks (maybe, days?!) of summer left, what better way to celebrate these last few remnants of sunny and warm weather than with some fun and flowy peasant style sewing patterns?
I used the Olivia from Rebecca Page for my sweet ladies, which is an adorable dress that comes together quickly. I alternated fabric choices for the puffy sleeves to give the dresses a bit of contrast, while still being coordinated. I just love the little details on this fabric, like the cute dinosaur footprints. It all blends so well together!
For my top, I knew I wanted the smaller print dino’s as my main piece, I love adding a dash of whimsy to my wardrobe when least expected. For the pattern, I used the Sailor Top from Fancy Tiger Crafts, which is flattering on pretty much everybody. It’s a definite go to pattern when I may or may not have skipped a workout or three and binge watched a season of Forensic Files, eating the rest of the oatmeal cookie Halo Top (how do they make it taste SO GOOD?!) ::cough, cough:: But seriously, it’s pretty frikken’ adorable.
I hope you enjoy our very-amateur-but-extremely-fun photo shoot. We had a blast running around chasing butterflies, petting our chickens, and enjoying the sunshine. Can you tell?
Thanks for stopping by the Fossil Rim blog hop! Next stop is Red Poppy Quilts next Wednesday.
What’s your favorite end of summer activity?
