The Women’s March on Washington is happening on January 21, 2017 and to celebrate, people are knitting, crocheting, and sewing pink, cat inspired hats, affectionately known as Pussy Hats (read more about the #pussyhatproject here). Since I don’t knit or crochet (yet!), I thought getting a sewing tutorial would be a great way to include the fabric obsessed. 

I don’t know where I have been for the last few months, but I’m just now finding out about the Pussy Hat Project. I’m kind’ve embarrassed to admit that, especially since I live so close to D.C.! It’s a movement of makers to create pink, cat eared hats for the protesters of the Women’s March  culminating in a march on January 21, 2017 on the National Mall. 

I’m starting the I Have Purple Hair blog back up.  It feels good but strange, like an old friend that you can always talk to know matter how long it’s been since you’ve seen each other last. I dare say, I’m a little rusty. 


 After my hair is bleached, toned, and prepped, here comes the fun part: COLOR! I’ve used many different types of hair color from Punky Colors to Special Effects to Manic Panic, but the ONLY stuff I recommend is Arctic Fox in Purple Rain. (Use that affiliate link and save yourself $2!)

Welcome back to the second installment on how to successfully obtain fun colors! In this part, we’ll be discussing how to bleach your hair in the healthiest way possible.  

Bleaching can be a scary thought, but it doesn’t have to be. With some preparation and research, you can lighten your hair with confidence. Again, having a friend around will infinitely help as they can reach places you can’t see and all around make time go by faster.
